As reported on the Hughes-Fans Yahoo Group:

I wanted to let everyone know that the comics industry has lost one of it’s true nice guys with the passing of Dave Hoover last night.

I haven’t gotten details as yet. He’s had open heart surgery twice, but when I spent most of the weekend with him in Baltimore last month, he was in great shape and even better spirits.

Sorry for the bust-in, but I wanted to let people know.

Jim

R.I.P. Dave. We enjoyed your art all of these years.
