Al Rio Trbiute Art Book Volume TwoAl Rio Tribute Book Returns To Kickstarter by Jerry Whitworth

Two years ago, the first volume of the Al Rio Tribute Art Book series was published via Kickstarter. Passing away suddenly in 2012, Al Rio made a career from producing “good girl art” having worked for DC Comics, Marvel, Image, Zenescope, and more. Likely best remembered for titles like Dv8 and Grimm Fairy Tales, Rio’s comic book career spanned sixteen years. Recently, a second volume of the Al Rio Tribute Art Book series emerged on Kickstarter which promises black-and-white and full color art of characters like Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Black Canary, Black Cat, Iron Man, Hulk, Lady Blackhawk, and Huntress (as well as the stars of Grimm Fairy Tales) that Al Rio produced between 2006 and 2007. Organized by Al Rio’s business partner Terry Maltos, the tribute book will provide income for Rio’s surviving family of which he was the breadwinner.
