Other than Chuck Gibson this is the only other commission in which I had any trouble. But due to the true professionalism of Scott Kress from Catskill Comics, everything worked out in the end.

I commissioned Mr. Grell to do a piece of Daredevil crouching beside a gargoyle. I asked if I'd see a prelim before he began work on the finished piece and was informed that Mr. Grell doesn't do prelims. That should have a good heads up to me, but I trusted him based on his years of terrific work. Well, the piece arrived and it was really pretty awful. It looked extremely rushed. Wait time from payment to delivery was about 2 1/2 months.

I know quality is a subjective thing, but looking at the numerous pieces displayed online in comparison with what I was sent, I couldn't help but be very, very disapointed.

I email Scott, and he agreed to refund my money if I'd send the artwork back to him. I suspect he had to eat the cost himself. I noticed the he had the piece on Ebay soon thereafter, but I don't think it got anywhere near the price I had paid for it.

I've got to chalk it up to Mike having a bad day, because I know he's still capable of really nice stuff.

I'm just very, very pleased with how Scott handled the situation. He could have easily told me to pound sand.

I agree. That was a stand-up thing for Scott at Catskill to do.
I've seen a few of Mikes commissions that looked so-so and others which looked *incredible*.

I guess that's the good thing about working through an agent - there's always someone who is accountable.

I had a great experience with Mike Grell. This was arranged through Scott at Catskills also and is one of 2 pieces that I have by Mike of C.C. Rendozza of Wildcats V3.0.
The turn around time was 2 months on this piece but it was done about 4 years ago so I don't know what his time frame is now. I will post the other piece when I find which album it is in, I'm so forgetful.
