2 months after Marvel announcing in Canada that Alpha Flight would be an ongoing title, they canceled it.. I'm so disappointed in Marvel's unwise decision...

These are the guys who screwed up Spider-Man and didn't care, messed up the Ultimate Universe on a whim, and keep X-Men always in some kind of time/dimensional related crisis....

I'm sorry Jim, they just don't care.

Sadly I know this... They'd rather shove down our throat crappy "event" after crappy "event" than give us comics with great story telling... I don't even read X-Men any more, I read like 2 Avengers books (New Avengers, because Daredevil joined the team, and Secret Avengers)...

I asked Tom Brevoort on FormSpring about this...
Quote:
ME: I just heard about ALPHA FLIGHT being canceled, and after it was announced at FanExpo that it was going to be ongoing... Speaking as a Canadian, I'm very disappointed in this...

Tom Brevoort: Sorry about that. We were just as disappointed, but the sales were what they were.

Given Tom Brevoort's response, I suspect that the Alpha Flight limited series sales were probably not that strong(at least by Marvel's standards anyway) and the "ongoing" announcement was probably a stunt intended to boost sales on the last couple of issues.

My guess is that Marvel was probably never seriously intending to make the series ongoing in the first place.

I could be wrong, but there it is.

I was thinking the same thing... I believe it was only announced to take away from anything that DC was going to announce...

That's why I look at the independent companies like Aspen, Zeneoscope, Dark Horse, etc.
