Is this movie a must see, like AVENGERS? Will you go see it despite the silly looking costume change??

I didn't see the avengers- cough- money- so I don't think Ill be seeing spiderman till netflixs get's a hold of it. So I'm afraid I'm gonna pass on seeing it in the theaters. The new batman coming out in a bit now that is a different story.

I don't get to the theaters too often these days, so if something interesting comes along, I usually pick it up on DVD(or cable if I've REALLY procrastinated).

While you have the downside of missing the theater experience, you have the upside of saving your money if the movie turns out to be a turkey(not that I'm suggesting Spider-Man will be).

I may let someone "testdrive" it for me. MARVEL has screwed up Spidey so much anyway.

Is it me, or does the movie version of Spider-Man's suit look like a cross between Spider-Man 2099 and the bottom of someone's sneaker?

The question is, will the movie itself get any traction?

Probably so, really. Good or bad, Marvel movies are pretty much critic-proof(with the exception of any movie with the word "Hulk" in the title).

I saw it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Emma Stone was great as Gwen Stacey. The Lizard/Doc Conners was a good character. Flash Thompson was a lot like his not always a jerk self. Sally Field as Aunt May was hard to grasp at times. When Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) died I didn't "feel" it. Cliff Robertson was a better Uncle Ben and was written better too. No one said "with great power comes great responsiblity" :!: The moves when James Garfield was Spider-Man looked very Ditkoish and true to the comics although I think the costume looks stupid compared to the previous one worn by Tobey Macguire. I thought Garfield was a pretty good Spidey but a sorry Peter Parker. I didn't think or feel that connected to him when he was out of costume. Overall, a pretty good movie but Tobey Macguire is still Spider-Man for me.----Just my 2 cents. What about you?

I haven't seen it, but it sounds like it was better than most fans feared.
