Al's work is great. I've always wondered why he doesn't get a book to do from DC/MARVEL/IMAGE/anyone (except for the Grimm Fairy Tales from Zenoscope). I'd love to see him get a monthly book from someone, even Dark Horse or Devil's Due. What would y'all like to see him on? I have a vote to put him on G.I. Joe, just to see his Baroness, Lady J, Destro and Snakeyes or I wouldn't mind seeing him on one of the new STAR WARS books by Dark Horse. (Oh, and by the way-GO COLTS!!!!) :)

There's so many crummy 'pros' out there, you'd think Rio could find himself on a book since he's really talented. I wonder if he isn't on a 'Big Three' title out of his own choosing?

Aeslec-Congrats, you are now a Comic Art Talker! Can't let you catch me!! DSG, perhaps you're right. But if so, I wonder why. Anyway, even IF you are right; I'd love to see him work for someone else like Dark Horse or Devil's Due.

Yeah, it would be great to see Al Rio draw G.I. Joe, maybe a "year one" type of thing, since the writing on the series continues to stink to the heavens.
(We now interrupt this post for a brief rant: I mean, they've actually killed off members of the G.I. Joe team! THE G.I. Joe team!! Are they out of their minds?! I'm not going to read it again until it's been ret-conned to something sane. We now return to this post, already in progress.)
Also, don't you think Rio would be great on Danger Girl? As far as big three goes, they all have plenty of titles that could be improved by bringing him on board. It's a mystery why it hasn't happened yet.

He's currently the interior artist for Marvel's Heroes For Hire. Issues #6, 7, 8.
:)

He'll also be doing 5 interior pages for "Return To Wonderland #0" from Zenescope (along with the covers).

He would love to do more page work but folks - it pays like crap. He can make so much more money sticking with covers, commissions and corporate projects.

:)

Well, that makes more sense now. I think that AL should get the kind of $$$$$$ that any big name artist pulls down-Turner, Lee, McGuiness, Campbell-all those guys. I was glad to hear about Heroes for Hire, although I don't understand who/what Humbug and Misty are supposed to be/do.
