:o hey there !

I am very fresh to this whole community, and i am very excited about. my question is what is everyone else's stance on the craze of manga and how more artists now have a japanese anime spin or flare to their art styles. personally I think its pretty cool. but what about everyone else?

Welcome to Comic Art Community, ak07wash!

I think manga's "think outside the box" style has been positive, not only from an artistic perspective, but in bringing a lot of new concept and ideas to American comic world.

My brother and I are both fans of manga as well as American comics(we actually like a lot of European stuff too). Some of our favorite manga artists are Masamune Shirow, Shunya Yamashita and Tsukasa Kotobuki just to name a few.

Don't know, I think he's into video game design now. He did do a run on The Ultimates 3 for MARVEL earlier this year.

He did character designs and stuff for a game called Darksiders that's supposed to be released early next year.

Otherwise I'm not sure of any comic book work he has in the offing. He mentioned in an interview a while back that he wants to finish Battle Chasers sometime, but it's probably more of a "sometime before the world ends" sort of a thing rather than a "sometime soon" thing.

As far as manga goes, the most recent title I've kept up with is Sgt. Frog. I got all the Man Machine Interface issues, too, but I haven't read as much manga recently as I used to.

There don't seem to be a lot of titles out now like the ones that first got me interested in the genre (stuff like Gunsmith cats, Mobile Police Patlabor, You're under Arrest, Battle Angel Alita, Tenchi Muyo, that sort of thing) but I still like looking for new stuff.
