According to Newsarama, Darryl Banks isn't currently working on comic books, but is doing design work for a variety of collectibles companies while he continues to look for work in the comic industry. In October of last year, he appeared at the Mid-Ohio Comic Con where he posed for pictures and exchanged information with Ethan Van Sciver(the current Green Lantern artist). He also continues to do commissions.

A gallery of his commission art is available at:http://comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=11377

Hope this helps.

Thanks for Daryl Banks update. Sorry I couldn't think up any other artist (non-comic) other than Norman Rockwell. There are just so many to choose from.

Nothing wrong with picking Norman Rockwell. I think he's one of the greatest (and most underrated) artist I've seen, definitely one of the best of the last 100 years.

Come to think of it, I probably should have qualified that question a bit like "Who's your favorite non-comic book artist of the comic book era (last 100 years)?"

Otherwise it is awfully hard to pick one if you have to consider everyone from renaissance masters to greek sculptors.

No one really dies in comics; even Dan Dido said that Bruce Wayne as Batman would continue even after he is long gone from DC.

However in the interim I would vote for Dick Grayson; since he has earned it.

Cheers,
Jeff

I'd say Walter Simonsen, although Ron Lim and Sal Buscema also rank up there.

A Robot Army of Batmen is the all around best idea, because this way, overblown writers with delusions of Eisner Awards can kill off Batman in ludicrously improbable ways every issue without disrupting continuity because there is still a boatload of them left!

I'll have to adjust the list a little...

Continuity = Duncan Fegredo, Travis Charest, Tim Vigil, Mueller's Oink.
Girl art= Adam Hughes, that is all.
Covers = those Quesada Spidey covers are the bomb
Overall Frazetta is king.

Can I just say the site looks amazing! The load time is a little prohibitive but worth the wait.
With a free account can I lightbox/fav images?
Also, the folks who are posting the art to the galleries...are they the owners? If so, lucky sumsoguns!
Thanks =)
