Earler this year I believe at the end of Feb 2007 I had contacted Marat about doing a pencil commission of one of my own created characters called Z-Maxxy I sent him referances and let him do his thing. In March 2007 I had recieved the piece and just as I knew the piece I had recieved was outstanding. This only more enforces me that he is a great artist and more than that a good friend.

I can't go all year without having a new commission from my favorite commission artist Marat. This one is actually from February 2007. I had it paid for several months ahead of time before I actually sent the references. I doubt this is the customary way to get a commission completed but I have such trust in Marat. Very Happy

As you all know Marat is my favorite commission artist. So when I get an idea on a piece that I want just right who do I call?

I have a theme that I have been working on for several years featuring Batman and 2000AD characters because I really enjoyed the Batman/Judge Dredd crossovers.

The time between commissioning it and Marat finishing was about 3 weeks. However I had him wait to ship it to me because I had an idea for something different on another piece.

I am a fan of the music group Otep and I wanted a piece featuring Otep Shamaya. I asked him to use his imagination on what she would character she would be.

Hello Everyone,

Well it's nice to be back for a change. Since the soldier1941 website is down for a huge revamp while I decide what direction I want to go in for the future i need to rework all the commission links here, especially the Marat links.

I want to thank everyone especially Terry for putting up with my constant disappearing. It hasn't been intentional it kind of just happened this year. I will however get the links back up and running if you just give me some time. Marat, as you all know is probably next to Dustin my favorite artist to collect.

I wish I had started 20 years younger in this hobby than I did lol.

Hello Everyone,

This is my newest piece but not the only one I have to add but I will be putting the others on has time permits plus fixing the links to the others as time permits.

This one is a recreation of a single panel from Detective Comics #475 I think where Batman confronts Silver. It is a small piece of Batman history but pivotal I think. Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin originally did it but Marat did a great piece of art for me.

The Ion Fist Defeated by Master Khan was commissioned on Jan 21st 2010. During that time frame Marat was working on sketch cards for the upcoming Iron man 2 movie so I knew that it would slow in being completed.

This was actually the first Iron Fist commission Marat did for me the second one was posted first. He will eventually do six. The first set will feature Iron Fist battling Master Khan which is two thirds completed.
