I read this one yesterday on the treadmill.
A much better Anthology than Strange Tales, but still hugely disappointed in the artwork through most of it.

Fantastic cover and single page stories by Matt Groening himself save the book.

The worst is the Ben Jones story "Boo-tleg" - yuk.
The best "Three Little Kids" by John Kerschbaum. Horrific to say the least!

I'll give it a high C on the F to A scale. Not bad, but not the best either.

PS - My daughter wouldn't read it because "they don't look like the Simpsons."

I've heard this complaint before. Kids want to see the Simpson's look like the TV show. Adults like me don't seem to mind different artist's interpretations so much.

Was that the one that featured Jeff Brown?
I don't think he's anywhere on Comic Art either...not a lot of Alternative love going on...

Yes, his story was "Bad Milhouse" - a hairy potter licensing rip off story. It's all internal jabs at the business. Not funny to kids (or me). IMHO of course!

I like them to look like the Simpsons too. I haven't bought a Tree House of Horrors in a long time because the content is all over the place. That is the problem with life in general though, you can't please everyone all the time.

Cheers,
Jeff

I must agree...all these artist/writer changes with everyone feeling the need to get their own look/style for the books ruins them for me 9 times out of 10.

I think the hardest hit was Mike Mignola and Hellboy.
