Do you?
Do you create comics?
Are they self published or online or both?
Do a lot of people read them?
Do they make a lot of money?
Do you write them? Draw them?

I am curious of what you guys are all doing, I have been on a lot of forums and this one seems to have the best core group going...

Well, I'm an art rep and work with several of them, both in selling their original pages and pieces, as well as promote the upcoming works and the like.

That might not be the same as making them, but by doing what I do I help give the artists more time to create art, without having the deal with the "nuts and bolts" of selling their art.

I actually already follow your blog and quite enjoy it.

That is very cool, how goes that go for you? Is that your main job?

Thanks. It's good to know someone is reading what I write. ;)

As for your questions:

Yes, it is my main job. I know there are some guys who rep/deal comic art on top of a full time job, but I just couldn't do that. Firstly, because it would just suck the life out of me doing that. And secondly, because I feel it is a disrespectful to the artists, as they are relying on you to take care of this end of things. And if your focus is more on your "day job," you just won't be as effective at doing that.

As for how it goes for me. I guess okay overall, but sales have this tendacy to only trickle in over long periods of time (like one sale a month for several months in a row). Wouldn't be so bad, if I was selling Todd McFarlane Spider-Man covers, which can sell for 10K or more. But when that one sale might only be for a $50.00 piece, and I only get a very small commission from the sales made, it makes it very hard. I find I'm relying on the one or two sales I hold every year to be able to keep things moving right now, but it is also slowing down the growth of things, as well. More consistant sales would be the best thing to help me get more things done, that I'd like (and need) to get done. So, if anyone out there knows how to get people to spend money, that they don't want to spend, on your stuff, please let me in on the secret. ;)

In any event, I'm still glad to be doing what I am. This hobby has given me a lot of enjoyment over the years, even through some bad times, so it feels good to "give something back" by working with those who create this escape for us all. But making a profit at some point would be nice, too. :D

I've been writing and drawing comics for around 5 years, mostly self-published and online, but also for a few indy publishers. I've also done some covers for some different indy comics.

That's cool, is it a full time thing?
Do you have any main characters/stories you'd want to work on?
What's your favourite part of the process?

Not yet, but it's working in that direction.

When I was a kid my favorite character was Iron Man, so doing an Iron Man story would be cool, although I must admit that the character no longer bears much of a resemblance to the comic I grew up with, so I don't know that I could really write for the character at this point (not that anyone has asked me to).

Also, doing something with G.I. Joe would be fun, albeit with the same problem as above.

I pretty much enjoy the whole process. When I write I try to make the stories about stuff that I like to draw so that it doesn't become tedious to complete them.

That last part was genius, it seems obvious but I always forget it!
