New York, NY—October 5, 2016 — Since their announcement in 2015, Marvel’s Hip-Hop Variants have merged expression and art with a unique line of variant covers inspired by some of the most iconic and well received hip-hop and rap albums of all time.
Masterfully crafted by some of the biggest names in the comic book community, these covers have brought a spotlight to the narrative that has bridged two of the largest fandoms in the world and Marvel is excited to announce a one-of-a-kind signing event that will gather some of the most creative minds who helped connect the world of comics and hip-hop for Marvel: The Hip-Hop Covers – Cover Artist Signing.
On Saturday, October 8th, at 12PM ET in the Marvel Booth (booth #1354) at this year’s New York Comic Con, Marvel will be gathering some of the most imaginative artists who created some of Marvel’s Hip-Hop Variants honoring some of the biggest hip-hop albums of all time and, available only in the Marvel Booth, Marvel will release an exclusive Marvel: The Hip-Hop Covers Poster spotlighting some of these iconic covers.
At 12 noon in the Marvel Booth, meet some of the industry legends, rising stars, and creators behind some of the explosive Marvel Hip-Hop Variants including Tim Bradstreet, Natacha Bustos, Cliff Chiang, Shawn Crystal, Juan Doe, Adi Granov, Keron Grant, Sanford Greene, Brittany Holloway-Brown, Adam Hughes, Alex Maleev, Ricardo Lopez Ortiz, Khary Randolph, Damion Scott, and Brian Stelfreeze.
At the intersection of comics and hip-hop, this unique line of Marvel variant covers is inspired by some of the most iconic albums of all time and has garnered mass-media attention the world over. This Saturday, October 8th, Marvel is proud to bring some of the most innovative illustrators, painters and artists connected with this initiative directly to our fans as part of Marvel: The Hip-Hop Covers – Cover Artist Signing.
