Dragon Con 2019 Returns to Atlanta by Jerry Whitworth
Returning to Atlanta for its 33rd year, Dragon Con will see tens of thousands of attendees flood the AmericasMart buildings and its surrounding hotels in the Peachtree Center this coming Labor Day weekend.
Featuring hundreds of guests from film, television, and comics, Dragon Con grows every year as one of the largest fan conventions in the United States. This year’s event will include such guests as William Shatner, Zachary Levi (Shazam!), Karl Urban (Star Trek, The Boys), and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Good Omens) with performances by mc chris, DJP, Cybertronic Spree, and more.
Special events will include Dragon Con Night at the Aquarium (in association with the Georgia Aquarium) and the Dark Crystal Ball (in association with the Center for Puppetry Arts) celebrating Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal (1982) as it makes its return in Netflix‘s Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Dragon Con staples in the eighteenth annual Dragon Con Parade through downtown Atlanta and the fourth annual Dragon Awards will also make their return. Tickets remain available ranging from $15 for a Thursday pass to $140 for a five day pass and as much as $3,000 for an eternal pass.
