"Our Pal" Sal Buscema was born January 26, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York and studied art at the High School of Music And Art. The younger brother of highly regarded John Buscema, Sal began working in comics in 1968. Sal gained notice initially as an inker including short but classic runs on the Silver Surfer and Conan. He also demonstated his superior draftsmanship abilities by illustrating numerous covers for many of Marvel's mainstream characters. Recognizing Sal's immense talent and storytelling abilities, he was quickly awarded his own titles as a penciler. Highly prolific, he became one of Marvel's most productive artists for nearly three decades. Working on virtually every Marvel character at one time or another, Sal had memorable runs on the incredible Hulk, Captain America, the Defenders and the Spectacular Spider-man. Sal Buscema did more than just draw pretty pictures, he breathed life into Marvel's characters and captivated generations of comic fans with his work.*

*Huge thanks to Bill Thomson for the bio and pictures!
If you have Sal Buscema art to share, please register and UPLOAD.
(Hits: 119403)
