The Orang Minyak is a Malay ghost myths, a traditional folklore villain in Malay society in the 50’s in Malaysia. Back in old days, parents used to scares their children (especially girls) who likes to hang around outside at late night with Orang Minyak ghost story.
Orang Minyak who literally means 'oily man' in Malay, has became popular in the 1956 film Sumpah Orang Minyak (The Curse of the Oily Man) directed by & starring by P. Ramlee. The orang minyak was described as human, naked and covered with oil (supposedly to make it difficult to catch). He has supernatural power in origin from the devil. The defences against Orang Minyak include biting his left thumb, covering & tightening him with batik cloth.
Orang Minyak is a remake protagonist character I created based on a ghost myths heard ever since I was a kid. Here is the synopsis, a guy who has murdered brutally by an evil establishment. But somehow he managed to come back half alive caused by a chemical reaction of petroleum in a miracle incident. The blood vengeance is about to begin…
